Toggle allowing free text for a field instance

Find the field instance

There are two ways to find a field instance:

• From the Field Instance list
• From an Organization Detail page.

Find a field instance from the Field Instance list

In the left hand menu, click Field Instances.

Find the field instance you want to edit and click the Edit button in the Actions column.

Find a field instance from the Organization Detail page

In the left hand menu, click Organizations.

Locate the organization to which the person should be added. In the Actions column, click Edit. The Organization Detail page appears.

Click the Fields tab.

Locate the field instance you want to edit. click the Edit button in the Actions column.

Toggle allow free text

Go to the Items tab.

To allow free text to be entered as well as item selection, toggle on Allow Free Text. To disable this behaviour, ensure that Allow Free Text is toggled off.

Click the Save button. You will be navigated back to the Organization Detail page.
